Two Full Time School Custodians Needed

The Moniteau County R-1 School District (California, MO) is currently accepting applications for an immediate full-time school custodian position in the California School district. There are two positions to fill. If you have any questions, please call the Superintendent’s office at 573-796-2145.

Blessing Basket Drive for Nursing Home Residents

NurseServ and Central Missouri Community Action are hosting a Blessing Basket drive for nursing home residents who may not receive gifts/visitors during the holidays. They are looking for (but are not limiting donations to) warm socks, chapstick, hand lotion, blankets, bed pillows, room decor, and soft candy. If you can donate these items, please bring them to the high school counseling office between December 1 and December 9! You can also donate items at Family Dollar on December 11 from 10am-2pm.

Alternate Method of Instruction Day for Friday, February 4

Friday, February 4 will be an Alternate Method of Instruction Day. Our school buildings will be closed again due to inclement weather. Elementary students will need to work on homework packets that were sent home. Middle and high school students will need to work on assignments virtually.

CYCLE Program Winner

Congratulations to Alayna Butts for being awarded the CYCLE (Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience) Program invitation! The CYCLE (Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience) Program is a three-day conference held in Jefferson City, Mo. each summer. Over eighty-eight high school sophomores will receive invitations to attend this three-day conference featuring activities and discussion sessions focused on electric cooperative history, state government and leadership skill development. The delegates hear presentations from guest speakers, work on special team projects, and experience the state legislative process first-hand. The CYCLE program brings together some of the brightest young leaders from across Missouri each year and provides these students with a truly unique and exciting leadership experience.

VFW Annual Essay and Oratorical Contest Winners

VFW Post 4345 of California, MO has selected Rylee Hees as the first place winner of the annual essay and oratorical contest. Her entry will move on to the next level of competition. Bailee Lage was awarded second place. Congratulations ladies!
